Rochester Institute of Technology has a growing number of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), sometimes referred to as Asperger’s Syndrome, registered with the Disability Services Office. We value these students as part of our diverse community and acknowledge that some individuals may need additional support in transitioning to college.

RIT’s Spectrum Support Program (SSP) is one of the largest formal programs in the nation focused on meeting the unique needs of highly capable college students on the Autism Spectrum. The Spectrum Support Program provides individualized support to students on the Spectrum to assist them with the initial transition to life at RIT and help ensure continued success through graduation.     Read more, click through  . . .

This website is designed to share what is currently going on, provide resources and strategies, let you know about training events, and give you ways to talk to others. 2012 Parent Information Series
Are you a parent or guardian of a young adult with an IEP or 504 Plan? Do you know who can provide services after high school graduation?  Do you have concerns about accessing supports? If so, you are invited to attend the following FREE informational workshop to learn about available options and resources.  Come and get answers to your questions and initiate linkages to the adult services which promote the successful transition of young adults from school to living, learning and earning in their communities.

This workshop will be offered from 6:00 - 8:00p.m. at two different locations: 
Tuesday,  April 10th at Ulster County BOCES Career & Tech Center, Rte.  9W, Port Ewen, NY
and
Tuesday, April 17th at Ulster County BOCES, Rte. 32, New Paltz, NY
